Why attend?
The 13th Congress of the Latin American Glaucoma Society stands as the most significant scientific event in the region within the glaucoma subspecialty. It will bring together more than 500 participants, including opinion leaders, researchers, glaucoma subspecialists, general ophthalmologists, fellows, and residents in ophthalmology. Around 60% of attendees are expected to come from Ecuador and 40% from abroad, underscoring the regional and global scope of the event.
A distinctive highlight of this edition is its integration with the 4th Trinational Glaucoma Congress (Ecuador, Colombia, and Peru), consolidating a high-level regional scientific initiative. In addition, the Congress will host two major international symposia: one organized by the World
Glaucoma Association (WGA) and the other by the European Glaucoma Society (EGS), further establishing this gathering as a bridge between Latin America and the global glaucoma community in advancing modern approaches to diagnosis and management.
The academic program has been designed to deliver a scientific experience of excellence, guaranteed by the participation of distinguished members of the Latin American Glaucoma Society and internationally renowned guest speakers from the United States, Belgium, Portugal, Switzerland, Greece, and Singapore, who will share the latest clinical, surgical, and research advances in glaucoma.
The 13th Congress of the Latin American Glaucoma Society aims not only to be a space for scientific updates but also a forum to strengthen international collaboration networks, promote regional research, and position Quito as a venue for scientific events with global projection. Altogether, it will provide participants with an exceptional scientific and cultural experience.
