Day 1

Cuenca’s history, art & heritage


• Flight Quito – Cuenca (not included).

• Transfer to Hotel Victoria.

Monastery of Las Conceptas

16th-century religious complex with sacred art museum.

 

Calderón Park & New Cathedral

Historic center with iconic blue domes and monumental architecture.

 

San Luis Monastery

Historic cloister inhabited for more than a century.

 

Dr. Sojos Pharmacy – Old-fashioned sodas

Heritage apothecary with original boticas and soda demonstration.

 

Old Cathedral

One of Cuenca’s oldest temples, now a museum.

 

Lunch at Los Tiestos

One of the most famous restaurants in Cuenca.

 

Todos los Santos

Archaeological and religious area with Cañari and Inca remains.

 

Pumapungo Museum

Archaeological complex and museum explaining Cañari and Inca culture.

 

Illescas Sculpture Workshop

Visit the workshop of master sculptor Eduardo Illescas.

 

Return to hotel.

Day 2

Ingapirca archaeological route


Departure Cuenca – Ingapirca.

 

Biblián Sanctuary

Neo-gothic temple built on a hill, one of Ecuador’s most beautiful churches.

 

Ingapirca Archaeological Complex
 

The most important Inca site in Ecuador:

• Temple of the Sun

• Ceremonial plaza

• Pre-Hispanic roads

• Cañari-Inca architecture

 

Lunch at Posada de Ingapirca.


Return to Cuenca.

Day 3

Cuenca Artisans & Rotary Market

Visit to Homero Ortega – Panama Hats Factory

The most renowned toquilla-straw hat factory in the country.

 

Rotary Market

Traditional craft market with ceramics, textiles and handmade goods.

 

Artisanal workshops:

• Dorfzaun (fine ceramics)

• Traditional jewelry

• Cuenca artistic ceramics

Lunch at El Mercado Restaurant.

Return to hotel.

Transfer to airport.
